Mark Charles Welch - Digital Technology Expert is Available To Discuss New Opportunities

Before we begin, could you write a couple of sentences introducing yourself, where you're from and what you do. This will help readers get to know a little bit about you.
"I am particularly passionate about digital technology and software, particularly that in relation to additive manufacturing. I am a registered dental technician and as I have been working in the dental industry for 26+ years, I have many contacts within the UK & European market including customers and dealers.

Since I transitioned from a dental technician role to a sales and support role in 2016, I have been instrumental in bringing the 3D printer brand Asiga to the UK dental market and in turn helping the brand achieve global status as one of the leading DLP 3D printers for dental. I have been responsible for sales and implementation of AM systems into a large number of UK & IRL based dental laboratories, whilst simultaneously leading a team providing first level support.

During my current role as Customer Success Director Dental Europe for a start-up 3D printer manufacturer, I have been able to hone these skills having had access to a larger base and this has helped increase my knowledge and experience within this market. I have strengthened my ability to develop and sustain a good rapport with customers/partners through empathy, active listening, problem solving & genuine interest which allows me to drive successful outcomes.

I am driven by customer relations and my strengths are within technical sales, business development, problem solving, technical training and support. I consistently achieve company goals and I have been recognised for KOL development."

What made you choose to pursue a career in dental technology?
I like to get my hands dirty.

And how many years experience do you have?
20+ in the dental industry

What are your top 3 skills?
Selling, supporting and training.

What skills came easily to you, and what skills took longer to learn?
Supporting came easy as it is in my nature to want to help others. Sales took longer but I believe if you would purchase the product you are selling, the rest is easy.

Give us an overview of what you do on a typical (or not so typical) day in your role.
I'm currently supporting dental dealers all over Europe. This might be by support ticket or by remotely logging in and showing them how to use our 3D printers and software.
Sometimes I have to use my own 3D printer to troubleshoot for the end users so I get to print some pretty cool stuff!

What's been your biggest accomplishment as a dental technician?
Almost single handedly launching a 3D printer brand to the UK dental industry and watching it become a global leader.

What do you most love about your job?
Being able to train others and seeing the satisfaction when they are successful.

What are your career goals for the future?
I would like to work for an additive manufacturing manufacturing startup and help it grow to a global leader.

What town/cities will you consider for new work opportunities?
I will consider any town, city or country if it's the right opportunity!

What's a fun fact you want people to know about you?
I'm also a DJ
